Prior to that, Charles was COO and CFO of software holding company The Attachmate Group from 2006 until its acquisition by MicroFocus in 2014 as well as CFO of Vignette from 2001 until 2006. He holds a bachelor of science degree from Georgetown University and a master of business administration degree from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

He leads Cloudera’s overall product and technology direction with an emphasis on customer success. Prior to Cloudera, he served as the Chief Operating Officer at Naviga, a software provider for content development in media, where he led a team of more than 600 product, marketing, engineering, and customer support professionals. Previously, Leo held several executive positions at Vignette–including Executive Vice President of Engineering, Chief Product Officer, and Chief Marketing Officer at Vignette–until its sale to OpenText in 2008. Leo served as an officer in the Marine Corps and received his bachelor’s degree in general engineering from Harvard University. He also holds a Master of Business Administration degree from Georgia State University.
